Job Description
Mehta Partners is a boutique healthcare advisory firm with clients among the top global institutions as well as hedge-funds and family-funds. We are looking for an energetic and experienced sales professional who is willing to dig in and help grow our two-decade-old institutional research business. Compensation will commensurate with experience, but will include a base salary plus commission component and benefits.
Responsibilities
Drive sales growth through selling well-established independent research services to US-based prospects.
- Understand Mehta Partners’ unique products and services. Develop sales strategy to best position MP in this competitive environment.
- Lead entire sales cycle from prospecting to negotiation to closing while utilizing International Analyst team and US-based Associates as needed.
- Develop growth opportunities through lead generation campaigns, email marketing, networking, cold-calling and in person meetings, etc. However, exploration of creative sales techniques is encouraged.
- Aid in developing and executing client servicing strategy by working with International Analyst team to ensure that client relationships are nurtured on a regular basis.
- Identify and manage ongoing relationships with key decision makers and build solid client relationships from Assistant to Portfolio Manager.
- Understand various revenue expectations and payment cycles and work with Business Manager to manage annual renewal efforts and payment.
Qualifications
Candidate must have:
- Minimum of 3 years selling research to institutional and financial firms and 7 years total sales-specific experience with a proven track record of success.
- Excellent communication skills, professional presence and presentation skills.
- Corporate sales & marketing experience with strong sales track record.
- Experience selling independent research to institutions and financial firms.
- Understanding of independent research market and knowledge of voting platforms, soft-dollars and/or commission sharing agreements, etc.
- Strong relationships with portfolio managers on the buyside
Ideal candidate would have:
- Experience and familiarity with healthcare (pharma and biotech) industry investment research.
- Expertise with Bloomberg, BigDough, and Thomson/Reuters platforms.
